All you have to do to get ready is to arrive at the office without make-up and your prescribed numbing cream already applied to your face. We will then go over the treatment and we will have you wash your face. The Erbium:YAG laser is then applied to the skin and traced over the treatment area to deliver the laser energy. Total treatment time depends on the size and location of the treatment area. We will then apply cooling gel and a mask for your comfort.
After the procedure, you might appear to have a slight sunburn although this might not be apparent to anyone else until several hours later. That is why you could on a Friday come in on your lunch hour, get your resurfacing, and go back to work with an entire weekend to heal up and be ready for work on Monday. You may take Tylenol before your procedure and continue use afterwards. The discomfort will be very minimal.
