Laser Hair Removal FAQsBefore your appointment, it’s best to avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, and anything that might irritate the skin, like retinol or glycolic acid. After treatment, you’ll want to skip hot showers, saunas, and workouts for the first 24 hours since the skin may be a little sensitive. Keep the area clean, moisturized, and protected with sunscreen if it’s exposed—this helps your skin heal beautifully and keeps irritation to a minimum.
Between appointments, you can shave as usual but skip waxing, tweezing, or anything that pulls hair from the root. It’s also a good idea to stay consistent with your schedule so we can catch each hair cycle at the right time. If your skin feels a little dry or sensitive, a gentle moisturizer or aloe vera can help. And of course, SPF is your best friend, especially if you’re treating areas that get sun.
Yes, and for many of our clients, that’s one of the biggest benefits. Laser hair removal helps prevent new hair from growing in the first place, which means fewer chances for those painful bumps to form. Over time, as the hair becomes finer and sparser, your skin feels smoother, looks clearer, and becomes less reactive. If you’re prone to irritation from shaving or waxing, this can be a game-changer.
We can still treat areas near your tattoos, but we won’t laser directly over the ink. The laser is attracted to pigment, and that includes the pigment in your tattoo, so going over it could cause unwanted fading or irritation. During your consultation, we’ll map out the area and create a plan to safely treat around the tattoo without compromising your results or your ink.
We recommend holding off on laser hair removal during pregnancy as a precaution. While there’s no proven risk, there haven’t been enough studies to confirm it’s completely safe for you and baby. If you’re breastfeeding, we can revisit your treatment plan—some clients choose to wait until hormones have settled, as those shifts can affect hair growth and skin sensitivity. Your comfort and safety come first, so we’re always happy to talk through timing and tailor things to where you’re at.
